Camrose resident charged by Leduc RCMP after Break and Enter

On Jan. 14, 2026 at 7:27 a.m. Leduc RCMP received a report of and Break and Enter in progress at a residence in the 4400 block of 48A street in Leduc.

Officers arrived within 2 minutes and 50 seconds of being dispatched where they located the homeowner who had just been involved in a physical confrontation with the suspect where the suspect hit the victim with an ice scrapper.

Police located the suspect still in the area and arrested him without further incident. Investigation revealed that the suspect had broken into 3 additional residences.

RCMP have charged Camrose resident Luke Philip Johnson (24) with;

  • Break and enter with intent (x4);
  • Assault with a weapon;
  • Uttering threats (x2);
  • Theft under $5000;
  • Mischief (x3);
  • Fail to comply with probation order;
  • Possession of property obtained by crime.

Johnson was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Jan. 15, 2026, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Leduc.

“Very quick response from our officers and timely accurate information from our witnesses was crucial in the quick arrest of this suspect,” says inspector Kiel Samotej,
