Fatal accident Wednesday morning near Morinville

On Nov. 26, 2025 at 6:50 a.m. Morinville RCMP responded to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 28 and Highway 642.

Upon arrival, the driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles, a 54-year-old male resident of Sturgeon County, was deceased.

The driver of the other vehicle, a semi, was taken to hospital with serious non-life-threatening injuries.

Police remained on scene for several hours investigating. The Highway is now open and normal traffic flow has returned.

Initial reports indicate that fog was heavy at the time of the collision and may have been a contributing factor.

The Alberta RCMP would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased.
