On Nov. 16, 2025, Ponoka RCMP were advised of a break in and theft from two vehicles in a parking garage in Ponoka.
After reviewing surveillance footage, RCMP were able to obtain identifying info. about the suspects. . Later in the day, RCMP located one of the suspects. The suspect was arrested and has charges pending for Breaking and entering.
On Nov. 17, 2025, Ponoka RCMP located the second suspect walking in town wearing the same clothes as during the break in.
The second suspect was arrested for the theft as well as a warrants with 43 charges out of Edmonton. Upon arrest, other stolen items from additional thefts were located on the suspect.
RCMP have charged 32-year-old Ponoka resident Gabriel Tourangeau with;
- Breaking an entering;
- Possession of identify documents;
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 (x2);
- Fail to comply with release conditions (x2);
- Possession of break in tools.
Tourangeau was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with future court dates in Ponoka.
Information on the first suspect cannot be released until their charges are sworn.
