HUMBOLDT — The Living Skies Music Festival is entering its third year in Humboldt and expanding to a second city, with organizers highlighting growth, major Canadian acts and community support initiatives.
Organizer Tarell Sterner told SaskToday, the festival has secured a five-year agreement with the City of Humboldt, marking 2026 as the first year under that deal.
The festival will also debut in Yorkton Aug. 14 and 15, following a similar five-year agreement with that community.
The Yorkton lineup features a country day with Dallas Smith, Jess Moskaluke and Darryl Anderson, alongside Collect.Assembly and Cooper Tropeau.
The rock day will include Big Sugar, Crash Test Dummies, and Econoline Crush, as well as Blu Beach Band, The Great Fuss, and Matt Cory.
In Humboldt, headliners for the country lineup include Brett Kissel, Aaron Pritchett, and Kalsey Kulyk. Kulyk is originally from Hudson Bay.
Rock acts will feature Trooper, Chilliwack, and The Hip Experience, a tribute to The Tragically Hip.
Sterner said the festival continues to emphasize Canadian talent, with a strong focus on Saskatchewan performers.
Community partnerships remain a key part of the event, with groups such as Humboldt Arts Council, Lions Club and the Humboldt Ski Club supporting operations and volunteering.
Organizers are also seeking volunteers for roles ranging from gate operations to setup and teardown.
“We build our events around being something you can bring the whole family to,” Sterner said, noting the festival operates as a fully licensed venue with a minors exemption and enhanced security.
This year’s event will again coincide with Humboldt’s Summer Sizzler, offering additional activities for families, and will introduce a vendor space for local artists and businesses.
A significant fundraising component is also returning. For every ticket sold in April, $25 will be donated to the Humboldt District Health Foundation heliport campaign, with the Harman Foundation matching contributions for a total of $50 per ticket.
Rob Muench, Mayor for the City of Humboldt encouraged residents to participate, noting the initiative will support the development of a local heliport to improve emergency response.
Early ticket sales are already approaching last year’s totals, with more than 60 per cent of attendees expected from outside Humboldt.
Tickets are available online at or in person at the Uniplex. Early purchases offer the best pricing.
