Vegreville RCMP warns public of increase in ‘Grandparent Scams’

Bait trap used to catch property offenders by Whitecourt RCMP

In October 2025, Whitecourt RCMP deployed a bait vehicle due to increasing thefts. On November 5, officers arrested two suspects, Dylan Andres and Shanelle Williams, after intercepting the vehicle. Both faced multiple charges, including possession of stolen property and controlled substances. They were released on conditions, set to appear in court on November 25.

Leduc RCMP charge four individuals with child pornography, sexual offences against children

On Aug. 20, 2025, after an ongoing investigation by the Leduc RCMP General Investigations Section into sexual offences against a child, RCMP arrested Leduc County resident 27-year-old male Maxance Valade. Valade has been charged with Production of child pornography, as well as seven additional charges of sexual offences against children.
