Red Earth Creek RCMP responds to break and enter, three charged

On Oct. 11, 2025, at approximately 2 a.m., Red Earth Creek members responded to a break and enter. Officers located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. The driver of suspect vehicle attempted to evade arrest and drove the vehicle onto a lease road, where the driver fled on foot, leaving two female passengers within. Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services were called, resulting in the driver being tracked and arrested. The investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Slave Lake, Alta., and was loaded with several thousand dollars of stolen property from the break and enter.

As a result of the investigation, Conway Laboucan (37), a resident of Atikameg, Alta., Miranda Gladue (33) and Kayla Cardinal (28), both residents of Peace River, Alta., were charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property over $5000.

Furthermore, Laboucan was charged with:

  • Failure to stop;
  • Committing a crime while masked;
  • Mischief under $5000; and
  • Obstruct police officer.

Laboucan, Gladue and Cardinal were brought before a justice of the peace. Gladue and Cardinal were released on conditions and Laboucan was remanded into custody, to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Slave Lake on Oct. 15, 2025.
