Airdrie RCMP make arrest in child luring investigation

In May of 2025, Airdrie RCMP Special Investigations received a complaint of alleged internet child luring which occurred between October of 2024 and April of 2025. Investigation revealed that a 15-year-old female from Germany was in a romantic relationship with a 28-year-old male.

All communication was completed through various social media platforms. With assistance from the RCMP’s National Child Exploitation Crime Centre, the suspect was identified as an Airdrie resident.

On Oct. 16, 2025, 28-year-old Daniel Lee was arrested and has been charged with the following offences:

  • Luring a child;
  • Possession of Child Pornography; and
  • Making Sexually Explicit Material available to a child.

Lee was brought before a Justice of the Peace and released to appear at Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie on Oct. 30, 2025.
