Brooks RCMP investigating numerous white supremacist/hate-motivated crimes

Brooks RCMP is seeking public assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for numerous acts of mischief.

To date, there have been nine occurrences of white supremacist/anti-immigrant graffiti being spray painted mostly on City of Brooks owned infrastructure across the city.

The earliest known incident was reported to the city on Oct. 1, 2025, and the most recent was reported on Nov. 26, 2025. The areas hit were Uplands, the median of Cassels Road, the bathroom at Lake Stafford Park, the bathroom at Duke of Sutherland Park and on the back of a street sign on Sutherland Drive.

Suspect(s) are spray painting various comments, including hateful terms and messages, around the city.

As well, the City of Brooks has reported that stickers/decals promoting the White Lives Matter movement are being placed all over the city, usually on traffic signs.

These stickers have also prompted complaints from the public and it costs the city to remove them.

Brooks RCMP strongly encourages anyone who witnesses or experiences hate motivated crime to report it.

These acts targets individuals and communities, and they have no place in our city. We take every report seriously, and our officers will conduct thorough investigations to ensure accountability and support those affected.

Your information helps us protect the community, prevent further incidents, and harm, and stand against hate in all its forms.

If you have any information regarding these crimes, or know who is responsible, please contact the Brooks RCMP at 403-794-4400. If you have information about this and you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
