Alberta RCMP issues 998 tickets over the holidays

From December 24-31, 2025, Alberta RCMP conducted traffic safety enforcement, issuing 988 tickets, including 242 for speeding and 31 for distracted driving. Leduc RCMP officer injured during intentional car ramming; suspect arrested

On Dec. 8, 2025, at 10:38 a.m., a member of the Leduc RCMP detachment was making patrols on 50 avenue in Leduc when he was struck from behind by a pick up. Both vehicles entered the ditch and the suspect attempted to flee.  Despite being injured in the collision, the officer quickly chased down the suspect and took him into custody. The officer was transported to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
